Appointment of CIC: Bhattal flays govt
Leader of Opposition Rajinder Kaur Bhattal expressed dismay over the reported "claim" by the government, blaming her for the inordinate delay in appointment of Chief Information Commissioner of Punjab.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Bhattal said that no panel of names or any proposal had been sent to her in this connection. She said the post has been lying vacant since August last year and she had been in Chandigarh for most of the time, but no meeting of the committee to recommend a name to the Governor for the post has been called by the government so far.
