Kolkata In a bid to project a pro-industrialisation face of Bengal, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today said that for the last three to four years a lot of investment had been coming to the state.

At the inauguration of the Seal plant of W Hunger Hydraulics India Pvt Ltd plant in Sankrail, Bhattacharjee said: “We have been getting a lot of investments from European nations, and countries like France, Italy and Germany have been coming to the state. Moreover, we have been trying our level best to attract investments from both foreign and domestic companies.”

The Hunger group, which has invested around Rs 13 crore in Bengal to set up the present unit, will produce hi-tech polymer-based seals and bearing elements for hydraulic cylinders to cater to the Indian markets.

“The company will employ around 30 people from the local towns and they will start working on the plant immediately. Though we had expected to finish the project in about two years, due to recession and some internal problems we will probably be doing it in four to five years,” said B K Mukherjee, director of Hunger Hydraulics India.
