“This is not the time for politics, the state government and the Railways are working together for the rescue of the train passengers,” Bhattacharjee said. The Chief Minister was scheduled to address a meet-the-press programme organised by the Kolkata Press Club. But Bhattacharjee declined to take any question on political issues.
“As per the initial reports, the Maoists have done this. The operation against them will be intensified and all-out efforts will be made to free the state and the country from this danger,” Bhattacharjee told reporters. “This is a difficult job but the government is confident to confront them.”
“We have fought against the Naxals in the sixties and seventies and we won. The difference between that time and now is that the Maoists are coming from another state like Andhra Pradesh. But we would oppose them politically and administratively,” Bhattacharjee said.
He also said that they had no idea that the Maoists would resort to such action against the innocent people although they (Maoists) are observing ‘black day’ in the region. “They observe black day, black week frequently. But we had no idea they would commit such a dastardly crime against innocent people,” the CM said.
Before the programme started, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of those killed in the incident.
Earlier in the day, Bhattacharjee sent five of his Cabinet colleagues to oversee the rescue operations. Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta, two ministers from the disaster management department, Murtaza Hussain and Sreekumar Mukherjee, Paschimanchal (Western Zone) Development Minister Susanta Ghosh and Irrigation Minister Subhas Naskar reached the spot.

Why Chidamberam did not open his mouth to expose his cabinet colleague. People of Lalgarh & Jangalmahal knows who are the elements behind this action.Mamata Banerjee always says that there is no Maoist in Lalgarh and kissenji the maoist leader wants that Mamata Banerjee should come as West Bengal C.M. Where was he so far. Hundreds and hundreds of people inside or outside WB border have been killed in Maoist attacks in a span of last five years and ironically the WB chief minister speaks publickly on the problem. A hoax claim indee.

The extremism grows when the political leardership and admintrative capabilitiy become weak .Budhadev must be able to generate confidence amongst the alineated muslim and adibasi along with the general masses from party only then his promise will carry some meaning.

When a violence thirsty state is eagerly waiting to confer upon a terror tag on the tribals, so that arms, ammunition and forces can move, acts like these can well be orchestrated and funded by the same armament corporates who ultimately stand to benefit. Is it that difficult to get some fireworks and claims going if money is advanced? When we have an incident thirsty media whose bellies are dependent on countless stupid analysis of rogue acts, a perfect drama gets birth. Instead of looking at real worries in minds of people, these planned incidents take us to stone age! What a terrible shame to confer civility on this congregation of people in this subcontinent! Dear All, The mistakes of the naxels shall be corrected, if the politicians leave their attitude to make money through politics. Looting the wealth belongs to the public makes/creates weeds to grow among the public. First the politicians and then other Indians who take the law in there hands. Central government who knows about the wealth in this locations should come forward to develop the local areas where the people who lost their houses/land because of Industrialization. The politicians should stop dumping the black money in no man%u2019s banks in other foreign countries. If you really love your country fight to get the black money dumped in the foreign banks around the world. A piece of advice to the CM.Stop bragging what you had achieved in the seventies viz a viz the naxals.The present day brigands have destroyed more lives and properties than their predecessors ever did.Please prove your resolve to beat the naxals in action than merely being bombastic.
