“We are going to raise several issues like the announcement of a financial package of Rs 5,000 crore, waiver of interest for loans taken by self help groups to name a few. We will also pin down the government on issues like frequent power cuts, PTTI issue, faulty BPL list, terrorism. In fact there is no end to issues. We will use every time we are slotted to lambast the government,” Partha Chatterjee, Trinamool Congress leader and leader of the Opposition, told The Indian Express.

The Congress also seems to be in no mood to spare the government since Lok Sabha elections are round the corner.

“There are several issues like poor implementation of Central government projects like the NREGS, the PMGYS, faulty BPL list, debt burden on the state, the impasse on PTTI, to name a few. The finance minister, apart from announcing a grandiose package of Rs 5,000 crore, has also announced a plethora of financial packages for the people. It’s all very good. But we would like to know from the government where the money will come from,” said Manas Bhuniya, Congress Legislature Party leader,

However, the ruling CPM feel that the session would be an insipid one with leaders to remain busy with the election preparations. “It’s just a one month affair and the members will be busy campaigning in their respective areas. There will be at least two Bills, one on health and the other on urban development. They will come at the end of the session,” Md Masiha, chief government whip, told The Indian Express.

The session will begin on Monday with the address of Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi. On March 13, the session is going to meet again to make obituary references.
