Building bylaws violation: Home, Finance secretaries get notice

Chandigarh, February 7 The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued notices to the Home Secretary and Finance Secretary on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) by filed by advocate Vishal Sharma, a resident of Sector 34-C, Chandigarh.

The petitioner has sought directions to the authorities to check the building law violation of commercial building. He has also demanded suitable legal action against erring officials of the Estate Office allegedly indulging in corrupt practices. Sharma has sought independent enquiry into the issue.

It has been further alleged by the petitioner that the officials are causing loss to crores of rupees to state exchequer and causing loss to public. He has further alleged that a proper check be kept on the violations of building bye-laws and issuance of occupation certificate.
