Buzan launches centre in city

Pune, November 15 The Buzan organisation, internationally known for its mind mapping techniques, has launched its first training centre in India in the city. The organisation, located in Aundh is a franchise of the UK-based company led by Tony Buzan, who invented the Mind Maps software.

Mind mapping is a graphical technique used by over 250 million people worldwide that provides a universal key to unlock the potential of the human brain. It harnesses the full potential by incorporating skills such as words, images, numbers, logic, rhythm, colours and spatial awareness in a single and unique powerful manner, said a company release.

Mind Maps has a unique structure, which imitates the functioning of the human brain. The centre of the map represents an idea. The colorful branches fanning out from the centre represent your secondary thoughts related to the idea, which can be accentuated by drawings or colourful diagrams. This process helps a person to get an overview of the larger picture and encourage problem solving though creative methods. It helps in making choices and lets people know if they are heading in the right direction for achieving their goals

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Maneesh Johari, chief executive officer, Buzan India, said, "We share the vision of our mentor Tony Buzan — of creating a mentally literature world. We will assist people in applying Mind Maps to every aspect of life where improved learning and clearer thinking will enhance human performance."

Jas Johari, principal trainer, said, "The Buzan centre in Pune was set up keeping in mind the number of students and IT professionals in the city. We will offer corporate sessions in areas such as creativity and innovation, communication and presentation, knowledge management based on the techniques of Mind Maps. These techniques have been accepted in almost all Fortune 500 companies at different levels right from entry to top management."

Workshops will be conducted for students and professionals in areas of business and personal success, creativity and innovation, memory and knowledge management, speed-reading and study skills.
