Talking to mediapersons, after addressing a gathering, Prof Alison Richard said that the MoUs were a milestone in building relationship with leading universities of the state. The Cambridge University is also organising a series of workshops in
developmental studies and social sciences to attract
Indian students. The university is keen to attract the best brains in workshops covering stem cells biology and Nano-science across the country.
She added that Cambridge University will work with Jadavpur University in the area of water management. She plans to rope in academic institutes, industries and alumni co-operation for her university. Discussing the merits of the university, she said Cambridge university offers a wide variety of disciplines and gives needed ambience and freedom to students to pursue their academic interests in their own way.
At present, about 200 Indian students study at Cambridge University. Out of which, 70 have been enrolled at the undergraduate level and 130 at post-graduate level.
Around 123 students avail some kind of financial aid at the university.
