Gaekwad also won the post of vice-patron by pocketing 1,170 votes.

He defeated former Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary J Y Lele supported Shailesh Nagarsheth.

The post of treasurer also went to ruling committee backed Sachin Dalvi.

He got 1,006 votes beating all three candidates who could not even manage to get more than 140 votes.

Earlier, incumbent board president Amin, managing committee patron Amul Jikar and managing committee (from clubs-district associations) Pranav Amin and Vijay Jaiswal were declared uncontested winners.

This year’s election, which registered the highest turnout ever as 1336 BCA members exercised their voting right out of the total 2482 voters on Friday, was seen as a three-pronged battle as Amin, Lele and Anshuman supported candidates were in the fray.

The manual counting began at 9 am and continued till late night. The full result is expected to be declared on Sunday.
