New Delhi Four motorcycle-borne miscreants allegedly fired shots in the air in a failed robbery bid in Keshavpuram area of North-West Delhi. Police said businessman Sushil Jindal (42) was returning home in his Wagon R car when the incident took place at 9.30 pm on Tuesday. When the car reached the Wazirpur Depot flyover, four men on two motorcycles overtook them and forced them to stop. “The pillion riders then approached the car with country-made pistols ,” a senior police officer said. “They tried to scare the occupants by firing few rounds in the air. But the driver, Rajender, accelerated the car and sped away.” One of the assailants took out a hockey stick and hit the car’s rear left windowpane. “They started following us. We then left our car near the Kohat Metro Station trafficlight and I made a call to the police,” Jindal said.

A case under Section 341 (wrongful restraint) and 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others) has been registered against unknown assailants and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the accused.
