Cardiovascular and thoracic meet at AFMC

Pune, February 16 The 54th annual conference of the Indian Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons will be held in Pune from February 21 to 23. The event is being organised by Military Hospital -Cardio-Thoracic Centre and Armed Forces Medical College.

The event carries the theme “Conference with a difference” and will deliberate on a wide range of topics that include Robotic Surgery, Beating Heart Surgery, Minimally Invasive Approaches, Complex Congenital Heart Surgery Procedures and Valve Repair.

Dr Antonio Maria Calafiore, Dr Carl Backer, Dr Ravi Pillai, Dr Vadiyala Mohan Reddy, Dr Tirone David, Dr Ross Ungerleider, Dr VA Subramaniam, Dr Pratap Khanwilkar and Dr Jai Shankar Raman among others will participate. Eminent Indian faculty attending the conference includes Dr KM Cherian, Dr DK Satsangi, Dr Vivek Jhawli and Dr Dev Saksena. The three-day event shall commence with a CME programme on the first day which would cover topics in Congenital Heart Surgery, Aortic Valve Surgery and Aneurysm Surgery. Lt Gen SK Kaul, Director and Commandant AFMC is the Chief Patron of the event.
