NOIDA The CBI may find it hard to come up with evidence against Krishna and Rajkumar, once accused in the murder of 14-year-old Arushi Talwar and the family’s domestic help Hemraj, but Noida police do not think there is anything wrong in using their pictures to loudly ask citizens to get their “servants verified”.

The official website of the Noida police (www.noidapolice.com) displays a poster bearing photographs of Krishna, formerly a compounder at Arushi’s parents Dr Rajesh and Dr Nupur Talwar’s clinic, and Rajkumar, the domestic help of Talwars’ family friends, the Durranis. There’s a question mark between the duo’s photos, and the poster is titled “Servant Verification”.

It also asks readers to download the servant verification form from the website.

But Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gautam Budh Nagar, Naveen Arora seemingly does not think there is anything wrong with the ‘advertisement’, displayed just below the SSP’s “message”. The newly appointed SSP’s message to the citizens of Noida and Greater Noida says: “Our intent is to provide an overview of our agency and to provide specific information to help individuals determine potential risk or direct them to possible resources to assist in making informed safety decisions.”

Arora did not want to comment on the issue.

Rajkumar’s lawyer Naresh Yadav told Newsline that Noida police had no right to put the photographs of Rajkumar and Krishna projecting them as guilty even as the case is sub judice. “This is a very serious issue. The matter is still pending in court and neither of them are accused in the case,” Yadav said.

“We will serve a notice to the Noida police and could file a defamation case in court against the SSP.”
