Cavalry (Black) victorious

New Delhi Cavalry (Black) beat Jindal/Sahgal 6½-5 goals in the Scindia Gold Cup on Friday. Cavalry (Black) started with a 1½ goal advantage on handicap.

Cavalry (Black) began aggressively and went into lead right in the beginning of the first chukker, Atul Gupta scoring the opener. The chukker ended with the score line reading 4½ -1 in favour of Cavalry (Black). But Jindal/Sahgal came back strongly in the second chukker, playing an aggressive game and trying to close the gap. They scored twice and conceded only one to close the gap to 5½ -3.

Ransher Singh scored three goals and Gonzalo Bordieu scored two for Jindal/Sahgal. For Cavalry (Black), Major Ravi Rathore scored three goals, while captain Vishal Chauhan and Lt Col Atul Gupta scored one goal each.
