Kolkata Maoist leader Kishenji on Wednesday stated that the CPI (Maoist) is ready for talks with the Centre, provided the latter takes positive steps towards it. He also demanded the unconditional release of all Maoists, including Venkateshwar Reddy aka Telugu Dipak.

In a press statement, the Maoist leader observed that the Centre or state government is yet to respond on the issue of talks. Kishenji claimed that the Centre and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram were not interested in talks, and that “revolutionary retribution” will continue as long as there is “state-sponsored terrorism”. “Both sides should sit for dialogues,” he said.

Pointing finger at the central government, he said, “We had given a cellphone number to the Centre to call us. On the date proposed for talks with the Centre they did not call us¿. Instead they shot dead Lalmohan Tudu, the leader of People’s Committee Against Police Atrocities, in cold blood.” Tudu was shot dead by security forces in Katapahari on February 26.

Significantly, Chidambaram hurled the same accusation at the Maoist leader stating that government’s offer for talk was responded to by an attack on security forces in Lalgarh.

Telegu Dipak, CPI(Maoist) Bengal state committee member and state military commission member, was arrested by the West Bengal CID on Tuesday from the city fringes and was produced in a court on Wednesday. He was remanded in 14 days police custody.

Centre not interested in talks: Kishenji by hritaG on 04 Mar 2010

kishenji's counter 'allegation'(Centre not interested in talks) based on this tactics that Mamata Banerjee will now join his chorus and demand centre must talk to this terrorist outfit unconditionally 'for the sake of peace'. It's a subtle gameplan masterminded by some Kolkata 'intellectuals' to give Maoists time to regain their strength. Maoists are getting cornered everyday by WB Govt.'s counter offensive despite heinous attack on its police camp.Maoists are now scared so they are reportedly sending fax for talk with centre. It'll be a foolish act if govt. believe them and stop offensive against them now. their top leader Telgu Deepak and others are now in police net and police will get more facts from them.Again deciduous trees shed their leaves now make it's hard for Maoists to hide in jungle this season.Kishenji's despondency is visible that he asking jawans not to take part in Govt.'s action against Maoists.Another Bengal 'intellectuals' masterplan to create division among ranks.
