Mumbai Students looking for expert tips and tricks to crack the upcoming Common Entrance Test (CET) can now look forward to help from CET toppers themselves.

A group of students from one of the most prestigious management colleges in India opted by most CET toppers — the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) — are on a mission to  help students with their CET preparation by launching a blog http://jbimsadmission.blogspot.com/  to help CET aspirants solve their queries.

The blog consists of basic information about seats available in colleges, cut offs, management exams and other frequently asked questions.

“With the number of aspirants expected to undertake CET this year crossing 1 lakh, the road to JBIMS has become tougher. In terms of the number of seats, only one out of every 850 student manages to get into JBIMS. The kind of guidance students actually need is hardly given in colleges or classes. Who else can do it better than CET toppers themselves? Answering queries, basic information and important links relating to CET is what we have tried to provide through the blog,” said Rahul Lachchhiramka, a first year Master of Management Studies (MMS) student of JBIMS. Launched in January, the blog receives almost 50-100 queries daily.

Before launching the blog, the students had also conducted 14 sessions with CET coaching classes and colleges in Mumbai in January, which, according to Lachchhiramka, were attended by over 15,000 students.

“Our idea behind organising such seminars was not just to give the students an opportunity to interact with the CET toppers but also help spread awareness about JBIMS. JBIMS already has an excellent reputation due to the kind of education it offers, its placements and its illustrious alumni. But students should know what JBIMS is all about and the strategies to enter it,” added Lachchhiramka.

The JBIMS students also answer queries they receive on the official JBIMS email address crc.jbims@gmail.com. Queries relate mostly to preparation strategies for CET, group discussions, personal interviews, salient features of preparation during the last 15 days, strategy on exam day, mistakes to avoid, life at JBIMS etc.

CET will take place on February 15 this year.
