CGHS employees on relay strike

Pune The All India Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) employees association, Pune branch is on a relay hunger strike, which started on Monday and will continue till February 6 to press for various demands. The agitation will be intensified with mass demonstration on February 13 followed by a pen down strike on February 17 and 18, stated a press note issued by the association's president L R Jadhav and general secretary Francis Ellis.

Their demands include fill up vacant posts, stop privatisation and giving contract works in health sector, restore casual leave to 12 and 15 days, provide OT allowance to all the staff working in the operation theatre and ensure promotions to all health employees.

The All India CGHS employees association is an integral part of the Employees under the Central Health Employees Federation, employees of which are also under strike pressing various demands. CGHS employees have also threatened to go on an indefinite strike from February 23 if the government fails to settle their demands.
