New Delhi Pink is the colour of controversy.

The ‘pink chaddi’ campaign has a close competitor — the ‘pink condom’ movement, a blogspot started by another group of netizens. Both campaigns are slugging it out in the virtual world. The ‘Consortium of pub-going, loose and forward women,’ which spearheaded the pink chaddi campaign, will celebrate Valentine’s Day by sending pink underwear to ‘chief bully boy’ Pramod Muthalik.

But the pink condomwallas are in the arena too. They say, “Since the pink chaddiwallas claim themselves to be pub-going, loose and forward — a condom will help them along.” The end result: people all over the country are going berserk posting chaddis and condoms, depending on who they side with.

Nisha Susan, a brain behind the chaddi campaign, is amused how this “has taken a life of its own”. She is also busy taking calls. A man from Bihar sent her pink chaddis to mail to Muthalik.

In the spirit of “to each his own”, Susan is not really offended by the pink condomwallas. “I suppose our campaign offended certain people’s idea of what constitutes good behaviour,” she said. However, the online campaigns appear to have lifted the lid off Pandora’s box. Everybody has an opinion — on pubs, its culture and V-Day.

The pink condom folks portray themselves as “ordinary Hindus, who don’t bark on television to defend their faith, but get hurt when some people bark against it.” They are anonymous and started this campaign to counter the perception the RSS was behind the Mangalore incident.

Only to Hinduists? by R.Sajan on 20 Feb 2009

Initiated by Nisha Susan, a Christian, this is a Christian conspiracy to lower moral standards of Indian women. Obviously, the Pink Chaddi Campaign is financed by some Baptist group. The Campaign is vulgar since gifting the panties is an after-act token of appreciation of good performance, in the West. That the Christian initiative dares not send Chaddies to Moslem clerics shows their true agenda.

chaddi condom war by vasudev on 13 Feb 2009

it was only yesterday i saw a clip of what happened in the mangalore pub and now i am able to connect the relationship of pink slip with ram sene and the pub incident.i do not know how many of you have seen the clip but those who saw it must have noticed a fleeing female whose pants were almost down below her hips and…she wasn’t wearing any slip at all! (pink or otherwise).so now nisha jose or whomsoever, would want to send all those unwanted slips (which they anyway do not wish to wear to pubs or anywhere) to ram sene with the serene thought that these could at least be distributed to the poor modesty blaises of india who cannot afford to BUY slips.

Pink Condom Campaign by Amar on 13 Feb 2009

Its a bull shit campaign.. dont see any reason why they are sending the pink chaddis!!!!!!!! there can be a campaign against that but not in this manner.. its absolute nonsense.. I think people who support this activities are making pure nuicence and making the controversy even bigger!!!!! If this is the case then I would support the pink condom campaign which creates an awareness for the people who spoil their life by buzzing, having drugs, having-------- etc etc..

Mangal Pandey - the rising by Inder on 13 Feb 2009

Pink chaddi makes perfect sense for following reaons1) This is 1st time people of India have come together to give befitting reply to these kind of political goons - who ave tried to suppress individual freedom and rights... I would consider this action none less than movement launched by Mangal Pandey

PINK CHADDI by SUDHIR K SHARMA on 13 Feb 2009

I support Pink Chaddio campaign. There are hunderads o ways to oppose, be it dharma, road block, campaign, demostration, using of print and picture media, making and shouting of slogans etc. wgat is wrong if they have started Pink Chaddi campaign. I am a senior citizen and against his politiocal GOODA GARDI. It is the cheapest way to get popularity even worse then postitution. This so called indiaN CULTURE THEKEDARS must be given a lesson not to interfare in someone's fundamental rights granted by the Constitution. See your home first and teach to your childern rather then socity. We are able to look our interest.
