Meanwhile, the postmortem report of the youth mentions head injury and broken ribs as the cause of death.
Neeraj Panday (28), brother of Hindi daily newspaper journalist Ravi Panday, went missing on January 31.
Chakeri police had registered a complaint against unidentified persons.
Neeraj was found dead near the railway tracks under Chakeri police station on Sunday.
Reportedly, after Neeraj went missing, his family members had approached senior police officers, including SSP Anand Swaroop, to put his mobile phone on surveillance. The reason: The kidnappers were sending SMS from Neeraj’s mobile phone. The police allegedly did not take any action.
Ravi maintained that his brother died due to the negligence of the police, which made no efforts to trace him. “Now that he is dead, they are assuring action against the guilty,” he said.
Ravi alleged that the police was trying to hush up the case by claiming that Neeraj died after falling from a train.
“However, the SMS point out that Neeraj has been murdered,” he added.
