Chandigarh college win

New Delhi, February 13 Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Chandigarh, beat Jamal Mohammed College, Tiruchirapalli, 5-0 to become the last team to qualify for the semi-final stage of the Nehru Champion Colleges Hockey tournament at the Shivaji Stadium here today. The Chandigarh outfit will take on DAV College, Jalandhar in the first semi-final.

In the other semi-final, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, will meet Jawaharlal Nehru PG College, Bhopal.

Ameet Bhargav scored four goals, including a hat-trick, which was the highlight of the match between Chandigarh and Triuchirapalli colleges. Bhargav scored his first goal in the 34th minute and followed it up with goals in the 63rd, 65th and 67th minutes to help his team sail into the semi-finals of the competition.

In another match, which was only of academic interest, CRA College, Sonepat, defeated Sri Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College, Bangalore.
