Chandigarh hosts its first health expo

Chandigarh On the penultimate day of the International Health Exposition, organised by Paramount Exhibitors at the Exhibition Grounds in Sector 34, a ‘Healthy Baby Show’ was held on Sunday.

Around 60 entries were received for the show in which babies were judged on the basis of their physical health (height and weight) and their mental well-being. Participants were divided into categories according to their age.

The winners include Anmol Jannat Sarwal, Yorcik, Azaan Siddaqi, Smera, Shivam, Ayushmaan, Monal Verma, Manya, Arpit Singh Siddhu and Adaa Singh. The show was judged by prominent paediatricians and the prizes were given away by Dr Harish Arora, Dr Narang, Dr Shobha Kansal, Dr and Nalini Kaushal.

The event has brought together healthcare experts from all over the country for the exchange of ideas and business tie-ups.

Dr A K Kaushal, State Secretary of Indian Medical Council, Chandigarh Branch, stated: “Chandigarh has been the hub of medical education for the last 50 years and has emerged as a strong centre for medical tourism. This event aims at helping doctors update their knowledge regarding new technologies and medical equipment available.”

Around 50 companies are participating in the event. The expo also included programmes like a blood donation camp, conferences and paper presentations by the medical faculty.

Healthy baby show held at Shemrock
Samarbeer Kang, Saskan Mehta, Asmi Kanwar and Anand Raj Singh were adjudged ‘Shemrock Healthy Baby’ in their respective age categories during a baby show organised on Sunday. While in category A (1 year to 1.6 year), Kamya stood first, Shivesh second and Armaan third, in category B (1.6 year to 2 years), Aftab Singh stood first, Rajvir Rehani second and Gokul Gupta third. In category C (2 years to 3 years) Sehaj stood first, Meher Jaspal second, Miher Badani third and in category D (3 years to 4 years) Japneet Kaur stood first, Kashish Banga second while Harmanpreet bagged the third position.
