Chandigarh lift overall trophy in table soccer

Chandigarh, February 3 Hosts Chandigarh lifted the overall trophy in the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial National Table Soccer Championship at the Banyan Tree School, Sector-48 on Sunday. In the women's category, Punjab showed their supremacy by lifting the winners’ trophy while in the men's category, Chandigarh bagged the team title.

In the boys’ singles under-10 category, Yatin Ahuja of Delhi defeated Devinder Singh of Punjab 5-2 in the final to emerge as the winner while Amit Singh of rajasthan scored a 5-1 win over Kunal of Himachal Pradesh to clinch the third place.

The duo of Rahul Saini and Rohit Brar of Haryana clinched the boys’ under-19 doubles title by defeating Devesh Dabas and Naveen Singh of Delhi. Neeraj Verma and Talvir Singh of Punjab clinched the third position defeating Ashish Gaur and Dhuv Rajput of Delhi 5-1.

In the girls’ under-12 singles final, Tarandeep Kaur of Punjab scored a 5-0 victory over Harpreet Kaur of Haryana while Gurinder Sandhu of Haryana got the third position defeating Shweta Panwar of Rajasthan.

The duo of Kirti and Sheetal of Chandigarh defeated Monika and Priyanka of Maharashtra 5-1 to win the girls’ above 19 singles title while Gurleen and Gurinder of Haryana came third. In the mixed doubles above 19 final, the pair of Saurabh Chander Pawar and Sheetal of Maharashtra defeated Aditya and Monika of Maharashtra 3-1 to win the title while Vishal and Priyanka of Maharashtra defeated Durvesh and Kirti of Chandigarh 3-0 to clinch the third spot.

In the boys’ open doubles final, Ankur and Arshad of Chandigarh defeated Sarabjeet Singh and Ankit Bansal of Chandigarh 4-0 to emerge as the winners while Ashok and Harwinder of Punjab defeated Sukhwant and Jaspreet of Punjab 4-2 to bag the third position.

In the girls’ open singles final, Tarandeep Kaur of Punjab defeated Sheetal of Chandigarh 3-2 to claim the title while Priyanka of Maharashtra defeated Shweta Kanwar of Rajasthan to bag the third position.

In the mixed open singlesfinal, Jyoti kaushik of Chandigarh defeated Gurkaran Singh of Punjab 4-2.
