Lucknow A Faizabad court on Friday framed charges against former BSP minister Anandsen Yadav and two others in the murder case of law student Shashi.

Special Judge Vimal Chandra, while framing the charges, fixed February 6 for submitting evidence in the case. The other two accused are Anandsen’s driver Vijay Sen Yadav and BSP worker Seema Azad.

A third-year law student at Saket Degree College in Faizabad, Shashi went missing on October 22, 2007. Her father Yogendra Prasad held Anandsen Yadav, the then Minister of State for food preservation, to be responsible for Shashi’s disappearance and feared that she could have been murdered.

Yogendra had also accused Shashi’s friend Seema Azad and Anandsen’s driver, Vijay Sen, to be involved in the crime. Shashi’s body was, however, never found.

Prosecuting Officer Chandra Bhan said, “Vijay Sen has been charged with kidnapping and murder while Seema Azad and Anandsen have been charged with kidnapping and hatching a conspiracy to kill Shashi.”

Anandsen’s lawyer, Avadesh Yadav, said the court had rejected a discharge application filed by him.
