Cause celebrity
Fashion mixed with a cause created quite a cocktail at Samsaara’s week-long exhibition I Love Mumbai last Saturday. The works of designers such as Mana & Isha, Surily Goel, Deepika Gehani, Malini Agarwal, QDT (Italian lounge wear brought in by Roohi Jaikishan), Gopi Vaid, Rocky S, Prashant Verma, Neomy Khatau, Satya Paul, Falguni & Shane Peacock were on display. A percentage from the sale of these collections will be donated to a rehabilitation programme for the Mumbai terror victims. Spotted at the do which was hosted by Sanjay and Naseeb Kapoor of Samsaara and event organiser Sharmilla Khanna, were Avanti Birla, Sheetal Mafatlal, Mana Shetty, Isha Mehra, Haseena Jethmalani, Dia Mirza, Surily Goel, Deepika Gehani, Nina Manuel, Shalini Shahani, Deanne Pandey, Gayatri Khanna, Pravina and Jamal Mecklai and Kadambari Lakhani.

Showstopper Café Leopold’s Farzad Jehani catered the event with some lip-smacking dishes.

Flying High
With Mumbaikars gearing up for Makar Sankranti, can our celebrities be far behind? Madhuri Dixit Nene who is in the country with her children, Arin and Ryan, was spotted flying kites at a hotel garden in Andheri. Madhuri’s charming demeanor was enough to divert the attention of the crowd and soon enough she was seen signing autographs and posing for pictures. While Mads looked excited about flying kites, she made sure her children learnt the art too.

Bummer Missing in action was husband Dr Sriram Nene. But the bubbly Pooja Bedi and her children, Aalia and Omar, kept them good company.

A bash to remember
Hrithik Roshan is known for his noble ways. He proved it yet again by celebrating Farah Khan’s and Farhan Akhtar’s birthday along with his own, at his Juhu residence on Sunday night. The first to arrive were Jeetendra and Rishi Kapoor, Rakesh Roshan’s best buddies of many years. While the oldies were busy sharing a drink, it was the glam dolls of

Bollywood who let their hair down and partied till the wee hours. The presence of Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Kangana Ranaut and Mallika Sherawat proved that Hrithik is still the most sought after in tinsel-town. While Priyanka and Lara exchanged pleasantries,

Kangana preferred to be aloof. While none of the male actors from the industry made it to the do, Suzanne Roshan played gracious host to her group of friends — Gauri Khan, Kaajal Anand, Anu Dewan, Sonali Bendre, Goldie Behl and Sohail Khan who kept the party alive with hoots and cheers.

Showstopper Hrithik’s Kites co-star Barbara Mori’s attendance at the bash along with her siblings was definitely the talking point of the evening.
