Ludhiana The first edition of Aale —Bhole, a magazine published by the Sarv Shisha Abhiyan (SSA), Punjab, was released on Tuesday by famous Punjabi poet Dr Surjit Patar at the Punjabi Bhawan.

Addressing the gathering, he said, “This is a very good initiative as the common man is loosing interest in books and literary works.”

Amarjit Kaur, district education officer (Elementary), Ludhiana, who presided over the function, urged the teachers to assist students in the best possible way.

District coordinator of Padho Punjab, a project of SSA, Jagroop Jit Singh Shahi, said, “The aim behind this magazine is to enhance creativity among students and encourage them to contribute their work. We received poems, songs and literary write-ups for the magazine from the children. We will distribute this magazine free of cost to all the students from Class I to V. This is a quarterly magazine and we hope we will get a good response for the same.”

On the occasion, Punjabi singer Karamjit Neelon sang a poem ‘Maano billi aai hai’ to entertain the audience. Baldev Singh Mangat, Mohinder Singh Kamalpura, Sukhjeet Singh and Sanjeev Kumar were present among others.
