The day began with an informative and entertaining “Radio show” by the teachers. Special assembly was held at different levels which had informative play, enactment, songs etc. The students enjoyed all the items and there was a giggle on the face of every Ryanite. The students went to an orphanage and shared some special moments with the people living there.
Vardhman International Public School celebrated Children’s Day with great pomp and show. The uniqueness of the programme was that the students were the chief guests while Asha Rani Jain was the guest of honour, and Ruchika Malhotra, Alka Jain, Monica Malhotra, Nisha and Shelly were the special guests at the function. The junior head girl, Smily Malhotra and the head boy Prabhdeep along with the members of managing committee lit the lamp and paid rich floral tributes to Chacha Nehru. The teachers presented a colourful theme-oriented cultural programme for the children. The guest of honour, Asha Rani blessed the students and distributed sweets among them.
The day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour at Kundan Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines. The campus was buzzing with excitement and joy as the beautifully dressed-up children participated in various activities organised for them. The primary children were told the importance of this day. Songs and dances were also presented.
At MGM Public School, Dugri, a magic show was organised for the students. A scintillating dance performance was presented by Jasjot of Class X. A picnic was organised for the students of KG wing. Principal Mona Singh greeted the students on this occasion and exhorted them to follow the path of honesty and hard work as shown by Pt Nehru. Gajjan Singh Thind, director of the school, gave the message of peace and harmony to the students and urged them to follow the ideals of Pandit Nehru.
At Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Kitchlu Nagar, various competitions like poem-writing, fancy dress, essay-writing, dance and drama were organised to mark the day depicting Pandit Nehru’s love and passion for the children. The tiny tots of junior classes came dressed as Chacha Nehrul. In creative writing competition, Parul Jain, Manisha Singla and Sakshi Singhal secured first, second and third positions respectively.
