At a time when defence ties with China may have hit a rough patch, China has said that it will fund a gallery at the Rabindra Bharati University to highlight Rabindranath Tagore’s relations with the country. While signing an agreement with RBU Vice-Chancellor Karuna Sindhu Das on Friday, , Chinese Consul-General Mao Sewei has said said the gallery, ‘Rabindranath and China’, will be constructed at a cost of Rs 53.6 lakh. Mao said the gallery will be inaugurated on Tagore’s 150 birth anniversary in May 2011.
