Christian Dental College graduates

Ludhiana, February 2 DR Charis Chandy Joseph of Christian Dental College, Ludhiana, was awarded this year’s Pierre-Fauchard Academy Scholarship in the 21st annual convocation and awards ceremony of the Pierre Fauchard Academy (India section), which was held at Maulana Azad Dental College, New Delhi.

The scholarship comprises a cash award, a scholarship certificate and a one-year subscription of PFA Journal. In addition, 28 new fellows were inducted with the academy, and their convocation was held.

The Pierre-Fauchard Academy, an international dental organization which was founded in 1936 in the name of Dr Pierre Fauchard, provides grants for a range of academic and public health projects and programmes, as well as financial encouragement to dental undergraduate students. The academy awards scholarships to undergraduates who have proven their excellence.

The meeting closed with the new chairperson Dr Ashima Valiathan, Professor Manipal University taking over from Dr Anil Kohli. Dr Hari Prakash, Dean of PG students, AIIMS was elected Vice Chairperson.

CDC Principal Dr Abi M Thomas congratulated Dr Charis Chandy Joseph for bringing laurels to the college. Medical Superintendent CMCH, Dr Rajesh Paul and Director CMCH, Dr John Pramod also extended heartiest congratulations on behalf of the whole CMCH family to the meritorious doctor.
