A Hollywood firm will simultaneously produce a live action-packed feature film and a musical drama on the Taj Mahal for Broadway as well. The contract has been routed through CDIL’s subsidiary in UK — Media One Ventures — with a Los Angeles-based studio.
CDIL had recently secured a $20.15 million contract with Los Angeles-based Motion Pixel Corporation to handle about 90 per cent of the production and post-production work of a 90-minute film titled Soccer, starring football player Ronaldo.
Suresh Kumar Seengal of CDIL said: “We’ve received the first copy of the script written by Vipen Kapur, a corporate executive. The production is likely to begin in April and the film is slated to be completed within 18 months. About 250 animation designers will work on the film in our newly set up studio in the Special Economic Zone at KINFRA Film and Video Park in Kazhakuttom, Thiruvananthapuram.”
CDIL is also gearing up to announce a new project worth $40 million shortly. The film titled Playing with the Enemy will be based on the Second World War. The story revolves around a broken, unlucky baseball player who finds redemption by teaching German prisoners of war how to play ball.
“The film is inspired by true events. It will also be co-produced by a Los Angeles-based studio,” said Seengal.
