City schools celebrate Basant

Ludhiana, February 13 The festival of Basant was celebrated in various schools of the city today. At Jesus’ Sacred Heart School, students of kindergarten, wearing yellow dresses, sang and danced to mark the occasion. The principal apprised the students about the importance of this day.

Students and teachers at Ram Lal Bhasin Public School also wore yellow clothes to mark the colour of Basant. The students of classes IIIth, IVth and Vth took part in kite-flying and kite-making competitions in which Abhishek and Saurav were adjudged the winners.The tiny tots enjoyed fun games with yellow objects.

At Baba Isher Singh (N) Senior Secondary Public School, Jai Adit Singh and Muskan Kaur from nursery class, Tarandeep Singh and Gurpreet Kaur from LKG and Gagandeep Singh and Jasleen Kaur from UKG were crowned as Mr.Basant and Miss Basant, respectively.The birthdays of students from nursery to UKG were also celebrated to mark the occasion.
