Civic body attracts MoUs worth Rs 5,132 cr

Vadodara The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) inked Memoranda of Understanding worth Rs 5,132 crore with as many as 19 companies on Tuesday as part of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit in Ahmedabad.

Sources said the investors have shown much interest in Vadodara’s progress and came up with various projects on the second day of the event.  

“Most projects are related to infrastructure development and real estate. Right from the malls, multi-specialty hospitals to five star hotels, residential colonies, the investors have come forward and signed the MoUs in all these sectors,” said a senior VMC official.

There are three projects to develop multi-specialty hospitals, one five star hotel, eight projects to develop residential colonies, two malls with multiplexes and a couple of industrial projects. Sources, however, said that a couple of projects were already part of the last VGGIS in 2007.
