“These kendras will be nearer home for citizens, where they can lodge complaints on sanitation, cleanliness, road repairs, waterlogging and felling of trees among others. These kendras will enable prompt disposal of public grievances,” an MCD spokesperson said.
The announcement was made at a budget discussion on Tuesday where Standing Committee Chairman Vijendra Gupta also said that officials of Engineering, Sanitation and Horticulture departments etc will be available at these centres. The complaints received at these kendras will be sent to officials concerned for redress. Computers installed at these centres will be connected to the main server and a senior officer will monitor them regularly to ensure prompt action.
“These kendras will be set up in a phased manner,” said K S Mehra, Municipal Commissioner.
