Facing consistent onslaught from the Trinamool Congress, Chief Minister Budhadeb Bhattacharjee on Thursday hit back terming it “an indisciplined party which thrives on falsehood”.

The chief minister was reacting to the statement made by Trinamool MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay who claimed Bhattacharjee had confided to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram three months ago that he was likely to leave after the Assembly elections and was unable to maintain law and order in the state.

“It is surprising that a Trinmool Congress MP apprised the people what was discussed between a chief minister and the Union Home Minister,” Bhattacharjee told mediapersons at the Writers’ Buildings.

“It is funny. When I will go to Delhi, I will verify what the Union Home Minister said and what the Trinamool MP said,” he added, and asserted that the Left Front is in power in West Bengal.

He said he would warn Chidambaram about the character of the Trinamool Congress, which always make false statements. “He (Chidambaram) does not know this party for long. They were with BJP earlier, now they are with Congress. They thrive only on falsehood,” the chief minister said.
