Ahmedabad Chief Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday, inaugurated a coin museum at Ajwa and dedicated it to the public. He also unveiled a statue of Janata Party founder Jay Prakash Narayan.

While extolling the contributions of J P (as he was popularly known), Modi said the leader was critical of the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) and the Hindu Mahasabha and never had any political allegiance to both.

"But during the seventies when all the forces got together opposing the dictatorial policies of the rulers, it was J P who had said that if Hindu Mahasabha was fascist, then he (J P) is also a fascist," Modi added.

The CM also inaugurated 36 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at a public function at the exhibition grounds of Rajmahal Road in the city.

The chief minister also announced a Rs 50-crore package for the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) for various development works and praised the civic body's efforts to clean the Vishwamitri.
