Well, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam offered a suggestion on similar lines. In a recent meeting, when one of the top officials of the department was asked to explain the increasing unscheduled powercuts in the state, he went on to suggest that people should get invertors installed in their homes as the power situation was only going to get worse in the days to come.

Hidden admirers

Different words
Actions don’t seem to speak louder than our politicians’ words. Over the last several months, the leaders in Punjab have been assuring the representatives of various employees’ organisations that they would raise the case of increasing the retirement age of employees from 58 to 60. They said they would “do everything possible” to convince the Chief Minister about the merits of the case. However, in the latest Cabinet meeting, not even a word was mentioned about the issue to the Chief Minister by those who had made these promises.
