COA students shine in PAU athletic meet

Ludhiana Balinder Kaur and Mandeep Singh, both of College of Agriculture (COA), were declared best athletes in women's and men's category in the two day long Punjab Agricultural University Athletic Meet at the university campus on Wednesday.

Baljinder Kaur of COA won the 100 metre race while Harmeet Kaur and Sirtaj Singh, both of COA, claimed top spot in shot-put in women and men's category. The javelin throw event was won by Jagdeep Kaur of College of Home Science in women category while jashandeep Singh of COA won the men event. Balinder Kaur of COA claimed pole position in 1500 metre and 800 metre event. In the boys' category, Ramandeep Singh of College of Bachelors of Science won the 400 metre event while Mandeep Singh of COA won the long jump event. Gurbinder Singh of COA won in the 5000 metre event while the 110 metre hurdle event was won by Mandeep Singh of COA. Perwinkle Garewal won the hammer throw event while Gurpreet Singh of COAE and Mandeep Singh of COA won the 400 metre and Triple jump event, respectively. Taranjeet Singh won the 1500 metres event.
