According to an advisory issued on Sunday, all government and government-aided schools under the Delhi government, Municipal Corporation of Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Cantonment Board will remain closed for Classes I-VIII till Tuesday. Students of Classes IX to XII will, however, have classes.
Most private schools have also announced that their winter vacation will continue till January 6.
All core branches of Delhi Public School, including the ones in Noida, Rohini, Dwarka and Faridabad, will remain closed on January 5 and 6. The holidays for the junior wings have been extended further, till January 12. All branches of Springdales School will remain closed for all classes till January 6.
Modern School will, however, remain open, according to Vasant Vihar branch principal Goldy Malhotra.
S L Jain, principal of the Mahavir Senior Model School and chairman of the National Progressive Schools’ Conference (NPSC), said he would consider the extension of winter holidays only for the junior classes as terminal examinations were scheduled for the week.
“For the primary students, we will see how many come tomorrow since news channels have started reporting that the government has closed schools. We will accordingly decide on whether to keep the school closed for them the day after,” Jain said.
The school will remain open for the senior wing — Class 6 to 12.
As the chairman of the NPSC, Jain said, he would recommend to all its member schools to start the winter break from January 1 instead of December for the coming year.

I fail to understand why other private schools have not announced the closure for the young children. These children are not made up of steel
News is not about 2010 but abt last year.. read carefully
Due to extreme winter the primary school should be closed till 11th Jan.
