College holds contest to attract sudents towards library

Chandigarh, February 16 The Library Department of Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45 organised a “Reference Hunting and Book Finding Contest” in the college library today. The objective of the contest was to encourage the students to look for information from resources available in the library.

30 teams from different under-graduate programmes of the college participated in the contest. Each team consisted of two students. The teams were asked to locate particular books in the library and find out information from the reference resources like Encyclopedia Britannica.

While inaugurating the event, principal of the college Dr Meera Modi said the contest would attract the students to visit library and explore the information resources available there. Librarian Jaspal Kaur briefed participants about the rules of the contest.

Team led by Surbhi and Pooja of BCA first year won the first prize, while the team of Bhawna and Nimisha of B Com (II) bagged the second prize. The third prize was given to Akshima and Mona of B Com (II).
