ICFRE, whose objective is to undertake, aid, promote and coordinate forestry education, research and applications in the colleges across the country, has provided the institute with a Rs 3-crore grant.
Although CoF has got a new building, the problem of qualified faculties still persists.
According to a professor, the government has recruited only one qualified faculty in the university since 1998.
This has hampered the research and development activities related to forest conservation and management at the university.
Apart from this, NAU has also got a new building for running agri-business management courses.
The state government has assured the university that it will do whatever it can to recruit qualified faculties. Besides the new building, the university is also planning to have two separate hostels for girls, a hostel for the students from veterinary branch and an auditorium.
In the last three years, NAU has been able to establish three different colleges.
“The College of Forestry, agri-business and veterinary have come up in around 365 hectares of land in Navsari,” said Prof Dr SK Saxena.
