Hind-Ahab started on a positive note as their forwards Hitender Singh Rawat and Anuj Peter kept attacking and the Heroes defenders were always kept on their toes.
And the consistent attack by the Hind-Ahbab’s forwards helped them strike the first blow in the 25th minute. A cross from the left flank rebounded off Heroes’ custodian Rashid, and was capitalised on by Hind-Ahbab’s Rawat who gave his team a 1-0 lead. A minute later, Heroes’ midfielder Stanley took a solo run to chip the ball over Hind-Ahbab’s custodian Mohd. Atif to score the equaliser.
With the score 1-1 at half time, Heroes’ Nigerian recruit Tunde put them ahead in the 46th minute to help his team register a second consecutive victory. Though Anuj Peter had a chance to equalise in the dying minutes, he failed. His shot hit the bar just before the referee blew the final whistle.
