If you are given a choice between a ramp show by Anamika Khanna and Rajesh Pratap Singh, both at the same time, but at different venues, which would you choose? While most buyers, critics and designers were flummoxed by the obvious dilemma during the spring-summer 2009 edition of the fashion weeks last season, Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has finally decided to end their misery.

After weeks of dillydallying, the apex body of Indian fashion has decided to move forward the dates of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) in order to avoid a clash with the Delhi Fashion Week that is scheduled to take-off at the Emporio Mall from March 19-23.

While the venue still remains the Intercontinental Eros at Nehru Place, according to sources the new dates for the Week are between March 18-23, instead of March 20-24. Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI, was not available to comment on the latest development.

Incidentally, while the various factions of Indian fashion have been engaged in talks to bring them all together under one single platform, no conclusive solution has emerged so far.

FDCI’s decision to pull their dates forward though, will at least ensure that designers, buyers and fashionistas alike will be spared some difficult choices at least.
