Commerce professor gets membership to international academy

Chandigarh Dr Pardeep Singh Walia, a Commerce lecturer at the Government College for Girls, Sector 11, recently presented a paper at the International Academy of Management and Business (IAMB), USA. The international conference, on the theme of ‘Management in Global Economic Crisis’, was organised by IAMB from January 28 to 30 in New Orleans.

As many as 58 research scholars and academicians from across 20 countries of the world participated in the conference and presented their esearch papers.

Dr Walia presented his research paper titled ‘Trade Unionism and Industrial Disputes: Indian perspective’ in which he identified the factors responsible for the initial genesis and continuous growth of the trade union movement and its contribution in generating employee-friendly reforms.

The IAMB has also conferred upon him the membership to the Advisory Board of the academy. Dr Walia has been appointed as an added member in the Faculty of Business Management and Commerce at Panjab University from February 1, 2009, to January 31, 2011.
