Forms will be out within a fortnight, with April 10 being the last date for submitting the application.
CLAT comprises of a written test containing both subjective and objective questions. This will be followed by a counselling session to be held at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, as it is the CLAT conducting institute this year. All the 11 institutes are mandated to start the next academic year on July 10.
The prominent colleges among the 11 are National Law School of India University, Bangalore; National Law Institute University, Bhopal; West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata; National Law University, Jodhpur; and Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur.
Ramesh Kumar, Faculty Advisor, Committee on Recruitment Affairs, Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar, said CLAT is aimed at enhancing the catchment area for the institutes. This in turn betters the quality of admitted students as well as the quality of educational institutions.
Ramesh added: “GNLU will admit about 160 students this year through CLAT. These students will be for five-year integrated courses of BA LLB (Hons), BSc LLB (Hons) and BCom LLB (Hons).”
Elaborating further, he said the GNLU follows a semester system with six subjects in each semester. The laboratory facilities are provided for students pursuing BSc LLB (Hons).
The common test was introduced last year on the basis of an MoU signed by various law schools.
