Another Zenzi comes up at Lower Parel

Blue Frog will no longer be the only swinging joint in the Lower Parel industrial area as Zenzi has plans to open a resto-bar right next door. “It’s going to have a different look and feel from Zenzi in Bandra. This is an industrial area so we are going for a rough, raw look,” says Matan Schabracq, the man behind the cool watering hole that opened in Bandra in 2004. “Zenzi in Bandra has the feel of a living room—it’s laidback and is the right place for conversation. This Zenzi is going to be more high energy—we have the best sound system in India and we will have two kinds of music playing,” says Schabracq who refuses to let us in on what kind of music it is going to be.

“We also plan to segregate the restaurant where the dining will be on first floor and the bar on the ground floor,” he confirms. While the ground plan is in place, construction is still underway and Schabracq is not sure when the new Zenzi will open its gates to the party people.

“Our crowd will not change and we are inviting the usual creative people for the launch party. We will have lots of cultural events and live music,” says Schabracq. Blue Frog better get set for its new neighbour.
