On the basis of these complaints, a survey of the sewer and water pipes in Zone C has been ordered to find out the areas where the pipes require to be changed, told Zonal Commissioner A S Sekhon to Newsline.
The survey report has to be submitted to the Mayor by January 2.
Interestingly, the Mayor had informed the Municipal Councillors about the sangat darshan but the officers were not aware about any such programme till late yesterday. They were informed about it this morning only.
Sekhon told that complaints about contaminated water supply came from areas like Shimlapuri, Kot Mangal Singh, Janta Nagar, Mat di Chakki, etc. These areas have a number of industries as well.
Besides the complaints regarding the contaminated water supply, there were nine complaints about house tax, 12 about operation and maintenance cell, and 10 complaints were regarding the licenses of commercial establishments.
A number of the complaints were attended to on the spot.
Apart from the Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor Parveen Bansal, Deputy Mayor Sunita Aggarwal, councillors of zone C Simarjit Singh Bains, Sher Singh Garcha, Jagbir Singh Sokhi, Swarandeep Singh Chahal, Parminder Singh Soma, Karamjit Singh Karwar and a few others were also present during the sangat darshan.
