The pre-conference workshop on naturopathy and first-aid witnessed sessions on bandaging and treating sport injuries. Over a hundred papers were presented in nine sessions related to exercise physiology, sports psychology, bio-mechanics, sports training, health and fitness.
Anil from Kannur University opined that though life expectancy in India is increasing, we must improve the standard of living as well.
About 350 delegates from Kerala, Andra Pardesh, Rajasthan, Assam and Madhya Pardesh registered for the conference.
The cultural evening also received praise from the guests.
A poster session was also organised in which 44 entries were displayed. Dolly and Usha’s poster on stress management was awarded the first position while Jaspreet Kaur and Harpreet Singh Dhillon’s poster was adjudged as the second.
While speaking in the valedictory session, former professor N S Mann stressed on the need to improve the standard of sports in schools.
Chief guest M S Saini, Dean Academic Affairs, said that adulteration in food items should be controlled to improve the health of the population.
