The confusion began after the question papers were distributed. Amreek Singh, a student from Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22, said, “Math’s is a scary subject. Such errors only helped compound the tension.”
Shikha, another student said, “ I forgot whatever I had studied. We also lost out on time due to the confusion.” Sources said that nearly five questions had errors. One of the three marks question had incorrect figures. Similar errors were reported in the other questions also.
The Director Public Instructions (schools) S K Setia, “We have received a lot of representations from the parents. We have decided to give all the students five marks.”
He added that an inquiry will be initiated to fix the responsibility and action would be taken against those responsible for the errors. Setia added said that no copying cases were reported from centers in the city.
