Lucknow Two days after their rally to highlight the plight of minorities, the UPCC demanded a white-paper from the state government on Monday, explaining the utilisation of Rs 1,300 cr funds allocated by the Centre.

Alleging that the state government’s claim of doing much for the minorities is false, the party has demanded details of the expenditure on every welfare scheme for minorities for the past few years.

“If the claims of the state government are right, they should make the white-paper public. The state has been blaming the Centre, but it has not been able to utilise even one-fourth of the Rs 1,300 crore Central funds for minorities,” said Subodh Srivastava, chief spokesperson of the UPCC.

It is time the government informs the public how much has been spent by them, he said.
