Ambala The Congress launched its campaign for the coming Lok Sabha elections at a convention of booth-level workers drawn from all the seven Assembly segments in Ambala parliamentary constituency, held at the Farookha Khalsa SS School Ambala Cantonment today. The workers’ convention had been convened by sitting MP Kumari Selja, who is seeking re-election from Ambala.

The election campaign was formally launched by AICC treasurer and Haryana Congress affairs incharge Moti Lal Vora, who gave a clarion call to workers to remain prepared for the election. Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, HPCC president Phool Chand Mullana and a number of ministers, MLAs and other party functionaries were present on the occasion.

Vora praised both the Chief Minister and Union Minister Selja for winning the confidence of the people by introducing development and welfare schemes and projects during the past four years.

Pointing his finger towards the responsive audience, he said that this was an evidence of the MP’s popularity who had worked with dedication to nurse her Lok Sabha constituency.

He also praised the Chief Minister for making Haryana state prosperous by introducing development projects in the state which remained neglected by the successive governments. He hoped that the Congress would win all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in the coming elections.

Earlier, Selja put forth a charter of demands pointing out that many projects in different areas of her constituency remained unimplemented.
