Kolkata The state Congress today lambasted Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee for his remarks against Union Home Minister P Chidambaram. Pradip Bhatacharjee, the working president of the state Congress, said the chief minister should concentrate on improving the failing law and order situation in the state instead of criticising a Union minister.

“There is nothing wrong if the home minister speaks on the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. He (Chidambaram) is concerned regarding the situation and that is why he is writing letters,” Bhattacharjee said.

“Buddhadeb should not be concerned whether the letters are long or short. Instead, he should concentrate on improving the law and order situation,” he said.

Yesterday, the chief minister had taken potshots at Chidambaram saying the whole country was disappointed with him for his bungling on the Telangana issue while he was writing long letters on the law and order situation in West Bengal.

Bhattacharjee was speaking at the 43rd foundation day celebration of CPM mouthpiece Ganashakti held at the Centenary Hall of the Calcutta University.

Chidambaram by Chanchal Dutta on 05 Jan 2010

Chidambaram must feel shame to talk law & order of West Bengal. What is happening at Delhi? What is the total law and order of the country. His party along with Trinamool goons are directly involved with Naxal-Maoist branded criminals. Budhadeb should have asked him to mend his activities and the Congress. A party has produced leaders like N.D.Tiwary should stop talking rubbish. He who himself was involved with different scam talks about law & order.Shame for the country.
