Ludhiana Following the arrest of Robin Mehra, son of former Congress councillor Santosh Mehra, Congress councillors and state party leaders held a meeting here on Friday.

Apart from the all Congress councillors, Congress MLA Harmohinder Singh, former PPCC chief Shamsher Singh Dullo besides some other leaders were present at the meeting.

While talking to Newsline, Dullo said, “SAD MLA Harish Rai Dhanda is harassing the Congress workers just to settle old scores. The police have booked Mehra under

Section 307, which is attempt to murder while earlier they were to register FIR under Section 325, which is manhandling. We will protest against this high-headedness.” Gurpreet Singh Gogi, the Congress councillor, said, “SAD is opening two-year old cases. We will be staging dharna outside DC’s office.”

Apart from this, the councillors also discussed the on-going MC projects. They lamented development works in their wards were progressing very slowly.
