Lucknow The Congress attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party for alleged violation of the model code of conduct on Tuesday. In a letter to the Election Commission, Congress said BJP leader Yogi Adityanath and his supporters indulged in open display of firearms in Kauriram area, around 30 km from Gorakhpur. During a meeting of partyworkers, supporters of Adityanath allegedly brandishing firearms and forced people to display BJP banners in front of their shops and houses. “I was present at the spot and saw it happening,” said Dwijendra Tripathi, spokesperson of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee.
